  • To provide efficient marketing, logistical and event management support to the Event Manager and the wider team.
  • To work with Supporting Communities platform Teamwork.
  • To build effective relationships with supporters to promote and encourage participation to maximise fundraising whilst deepening supporter relationships to drive second actions and retention.
  • To connect with media and secure their attendance at the conference.
  • To identify a suitable and affordable conference app.
  • To undertake organisational planning for event schedules and source and liaise with external suppliers and vendors such as vehicle hire, food vendors, accommodation etc. for event day activity.
  • To further develop fundraising opportunities to increase the event budget.
  • To collaborate with other fundraising teams and spread the word about events to the wider organisation to ensure overall success of projects.
  • To provide specific event documentation.
  • To aid with the event risk assessment.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the skills, abilities, and level of the role as required. 
  • To attend online and face-to-face meetings when requested.

In response to the needs of young people to have services that are current and appropriate to their needs, they have called for a national conference to challenge youth work practice. As such, this year Supporting Communities will be co-hosting the UK’s first Youth Innovation conference. We are looking for ​volunteers aged between 16 - 25 years of age. The main aim of this voluntary role would be to aid with the event planning for the conference. This will include securing sponsorship, co-ordinating marketing and PR and making arrangements with the venue and stakeholders to allow the conference to run smoothly.


Organisation information

Supporting Communities is a new charity designed to provide support to those most in need. We have a particular focus on young people who are vulnerable and at risk. The charity aids children, young people and families through mentoring, mediation and building resilience with communities and targeted families. We also help young people to apply for entrepreneurial and social action funding.
